Product assignment ensures your additional questions are being asked on the right products, whether that's one single product, an entire category, or any products with specific keywords ("X") in the title.

When adding an additional question, you'll see the product assignment part where you can select 'All products' (and you're done!), or 'Some products'.

Note: If you're creating a Preset questions, click "Use template" first before you see Product assignment.

Targeting specific products

When you select Some products, you can set Conditions to match exactly what you need:

  • "Product is X": you can select a specific product from your catalog. This works well, but have you considered "Product is not X" as an easy way to select all of your products except for X?

  • "Product title": you can use more options, like "contains" or "starts with" which provides a lot more flexibility

  • "Product type" is great if you have a collection setup and want an additional question to apply to all products in that collection

In the example below I've used "Product title contains ALOHA" as a condition. After i click Save, I'll see a list of the products that match the condition under "Matched products" (it may take a few minutes for this list to update).

Making adjustments

Test different conditions to ensure you're targeting the right products. You can always return to edit existing questions - just remember to click Save after making changes, or use the bin icon to delete conditions.

Note: removing a product from the matching rules will not remove the question from reviews that have already been submitted with answers.

Once you've done this, your additional questions are ready to go! πŸš€
