Your Product Catalog in Junip is how we store information about your products. It's used when matching reviews to products and displaying reviews between regional storefronts and shopping channels.

Continue reading to learn how to edit your Product Catalog in Junip to ensure the information is accurate and up to date.

What is a Product Catalog?

A Product Catalog contains information about the products a merchant sells. It's a way of consolidating and communicating consistent product information among partners and sales channels.

Your Product Catalog in Junip is used to help match reviews to products within Junip, as well as syndicating between regional storefronts or other sales channels (i.e. Google Shopping).

What information is stored in a Product Catalog?

Depending on where a Product Catalog is being used, the information it contains may vary. In Junip, your Product Catalog only contains Product Identifiers.

How it works

When a brand connects their Shopify store to their Junip account, we automatically sync the product information that exists in their Shopify catalog to create their Product Catalog in Junip. Not all Product Identifiers that Junip uses are supported in Shopify, so we give you the option to add them directly from Junip.

Here's an overview of the Product Identifiers stored in your Junip Product Catalog and how they're managed:

Editing Your Product Catalog

When you add new products to your catalog or make changes in other apps that use your Product Catalog, it's important to carry over these changes in Junip. When your Product Catalog in Junip is out of date, this can cause issues when mapping reviews to products and syncing reviews between stores or sales channels.

How to update the GTIN, Brand, & SKU

For consistency purposes, the GTIN, Brand, and SKU Product Identifiers can only be updated from your Shopify admin.

  • Individual Edit - if you're updating a few products (1-5), click here

  • Bulk Edit - if you're updating a lot of products (5+), click here

Individual Edit

  1. Open your Shopify admin > go to the Products section > and select the product in which you will be updating

  2. Use the SKU field to edit the product's SKU, use the Barcode field to edit the product's GTIN & use the Vendor field to edit the product's Brand

❗️Note: Make sure you are entering a valid GTIN. Junip validates all GTIN data to ensure the data is accurate and legitimate. If an invalid GTIN is entered, Junip will not accept it.

  3. Once you're done making changes, press "Save"
