Welcome to Junip! We're excited to have you on board and help you gather more reviews from your customers.
Before starting, make sure you've done 2 things:
Created your Junip account (you can do that here: https://admin.juniphq.com/login/create)
Connected your Shopify store to your Junip account (you can do that here: https://admin.juniphq.com/settings/store)
Just follow the 3 steps below and we'll have you fully transitioned from your previous provider and over to Junip! 🤩
1. Bring over your reviews from Reviews.io
a) Export your reviews from Reviews.io
Note: REVIEWS.io only lets merchants on the Professional plan ($149) and above export their reviews directly from the dashboard (super unfair, we know!).
If you're on a lower plan and would like to export your reviews, the best way to get them is by starting a new support chat with their team and asking for a full export of your reviews for "some data research".
Go to your REVIEWS.io Dashboard > Analytics > Export Reviews
Select Product Reviews
To export all of your product reviews, input the following values in each field:
Click Export Reviews and a .csv file of your reviews will be sent to the email address you inputted earlier
b) Import your reviews to Junip
In your Junip admin head to the Reviews section > click the Import reviews button in the top right corner of the screen > select "Reviews.io" as the provider > then drag & drop the export file into the importer.
That's it! You should see a message box at the top of the screen showing you the import progress. Once the import is done, you'll see your imported reviews in the Manage reviews section.
2. Start sending review requests from Junip
a) Turn off review requests in Reviews.io
To avoid double sending review requests to customers, it's important to turn off your review request flow in Reviews.io before turning it on in Junip.
To do so, head to your Reviews.io dashboard > go to Invitations > Flows and click on your Review Request flow
In your review request flow, use the buttons at the top to Deactivate the flow so it's status is set to "Inactive".
Note: if you have a flow set-up for Company reviews, you'll also want to turn this flow off too.
b) Turn on review requests in Junip
Before setting up your Post purchase review request flow in Junip, there's 2 things you need to do.
First, head to Settings > Store Settings > Branding Settings to upload your logo and set your brand colours so your review request email and form are on brand.
Next, navigate to the Gather reviews heading in Junip's admin > click on Flows > Templates > then click on the Product review request template. This will open up the template editor where you can customize the content of your review request email.
💡Need some inspo? Check out our Review Request Best Practices guide on our blog!
Once you've customized the template, you're ready to turn on review requests. Under the Gather reviews heading in Junip's admin, click on Flows > then click "Edit" next to the Post-purchase review request Automation.
This will take you to your review request flow builder where you can customize the trigger action (ie. the action that triggers review requests) and the time delay (ie. how long to wait after the trigger action before sending a review request).
💡For more information about the basics of how flows work, read here.
💡For more information about Flow Conditions, read here.
Once your flow is set up to your liking, simply press "Turn on" in the top right corner & you're done! Review requests are now turned 🥳
Tip: to see a history of sent review requests or review requests in queue, head to your Junip outbox.
3. Add Junip's displays to your site
Before adding Junip's displays to your website, you'll want to make sure you've removed Reviews.io's displays first.
a) Uninstall Review.io's widgets
Go to your theme customizer in Shopify and navigate to your Default Product page.
Then click on the Reviews.io App Blocks, Ratings Snippet and Product Reviews Widget, press "Remove block" and the click "Save".
Repeat this process wherever you have added the Reviews.io App Blocks on your store.
Finally, to uninstall the app, go to your Shopify admin > Settings > Apps and sales channels > find the Reviews.io app and click Uninstall next to it.
❗️Note: uninstalling the app will delete your account data (including your reviews) so make sure you've exported any final reviews before uninstalling the app.
b) Add Junip's displays
Step 1 - Enable the Junip App Embed
To add Junip's displays to your site, you can do so in the On-site section of Junip's admin and click "Enable app embed". This will take you to your active theme where you can confirm that the app embed is enabled, then click Save in the top right corner of the screen to update your theme.
Note: If you're working on a separate theme, use the dropdown next to your live theme name, select the desired theme, and click "Enable app embed".
Step 2. Add the Junip Review Section App Block
We've provided a shortcut in the On-site section--simply click on "Install on product page" under the Product reviews box. This will take you to a default product page where you can drag the block to adjust its position, and click "Save" on the top right corner.
Step 3. Add the Junip Summary Stars App Block
Same as above, there's a shortcut you can use in the On-site section. Click on "Install on product page" under the Star ratings box. This will take you to a default product page where you can drag the block to adjust its position, and click "Save" on the top right corner.
Wooo! You're officially live with Junip! 🥳
