With Junip, you have a few different options to help you ask customers to leave a review. Here's a quick overview:

Method

How it's used

Primary way to get reviews. Using Flows, you can send automatically send a review request to customers after they make a purchase

Standalone link that (after confirming their identity) allows customers to review any product & update previous reviews

Part of our product page widgets, allows customers to leave a review on your storefront

Similar to post purchase review requests, email customers asking them to review a previous purchase. Triggered one-time (ie not ongoing)

We prompt customers to review other items from their purchase after a submission - if there are no more items, they're prompted to review their store experience

Automated post-purchase review requests

Post-purchase review requests are automatically sent to customers after they place an order from your store. Over 90% of all reviews are submitted with post-purchase review requests, making them the primary way brands gather reviews.

Post-purchase review request emails can be sent directly from Junip, or you can use an integration to send a review request from the email and/or SMS platform of your choice.

Send from Junip: set up in Flows & reference this guide, set up can happen in minutes

Send using integrations: set up in Flows & reference this guide, set up can take hours to days depending on the integration partner & the level of customization you want

Things to know:

  • Post purchase requests are personalized to what customers purchased, automatically taking them straight into a verified review experience

  • If a customer has already reviewed an item, they will not receive another review request as Junip only allows customers to review a product once

Manual Review Link

Review Links are used to manually request reviews from customers. This link can complement your post purchase request flows, but should never replace your post purchase request & should not be used in automated emails.

  • How it works: customers confirm their email, then are able to review products they've previously purchased, edit reviews they've previously submitted, search for products to review & review your overall store

  • How to use: we see manual review links most commonly used in support conversations, were agents personally request happy customers to leave a review. This blog post covers some of the other ways merchants are putting them to use.

On-site write a review button

Automatically included in our product page widgets, customers can use this button submit a review from your website. Note: customers are on your product page to read reviews & not to write them, so this is not a place you will get very many reviews.

Example of the "write a review button" on Manduka's website

Things to know:

  • Customers are required to enter their email and confirm their identity to protect against spam, bot & fraudulent reviews. If a customer does not confirm their identity, the review is not submitted

  • You can disable the Write a Review button in your on-site settings

One-time campaigns

Campaigns allow you to choose to send a one-time request for previous customers to leave a review. This is a useful tool if you have never collected reviews before or have just migrated from another review provider and review requests were turned off during the transition.

Review request campaigns can be sent directly from Junip, or through an integration of your choice.

  • Guide: How to create a campaign

Things to know:

  • If customers have already left a review for the products they purchased during the time range selected for the campaign, they will not be included in the campaign

  • Customers who have already received a review request for their purchase will also not be included in the campaign

Submission page after leaving a review

The submission screen customers see after they leave a review prompts them to review the other items in their order. If a customer has reviewed all of the products in their most recent order, they'll be shown a CTA to leave a store review.

Asking customers to leave another review directly after a review submission is effective because you already have the customer's attention and your products are top of mind. It also makes the task of leaving another review extremely convenient as they don't have to click out of the form.

Things to know:

  • If you don't want customers to leave store reviews because you're not displaying them on your site, you can turn this setting off under forms > preferences
